At least once a month I make soft chicken burritos for my family. They are the first thing I ever made from scratch. The sauce simmers down for a couple of hours, then the chicken is added and it simmers for about another 30 minutes. The secret is simmering the sauce. Hope you like them, |
In large, deep skillet combine:
Simmer on low for 2 hours with the lid off. Check the sauce occasionally to make sure there is enough liquid. Add water if necessary. Boil:
After cooling the chicken, remove the skin and shred the meat. Add the shredded chicken to the sauce and let the whole thing simmer for at least another 30 minutes. If necessary, add flour to thicken slightly after the flavors have had time to meld. Serve with:
