about Baking We grew up calling the stuff you put on top of a cake "frosting," but they all taste terrific if you call them "icings," which may or may not be the more correct term. Easy to make, they’re rich, and wonderful. Sister Nancy reminded me how Mom used to make both kinds in the quantity shown below and spread each on half a sheet cake to keep us from fussing over our favorite. Thank you, Mom! Enjoy, |
Double the ingrdients (or triple if you are my sister) to cover a 9x13" sheet cake. Quantities shown will cover a single layer or small square cake.
Chocolate Nut Frosting
Place under the broiler until there are bubbles, but watch carefully to prevent burning by keeping the oven door slightly open. May be be chilled in refrigerator after covering.

You’ll need:
