We all love to get mail from our friends and loved ones. I've put together my own light-hearted version of the annual Christmas missive. Happy Holidays,

Dear All, Thought you might enjoy hearing the highlights and happenings from our out-going year. Father bought a new toilet brush. Those plastic handles don't last as long as the old wooden ones. The beach is still there considering that past hurricane seasons have been pretty rough. Sometimes we walk down and watch the tide come in. For a change, we walk down and watch the tide go out. The new music has finally arrived for Mother's handbell choir. It's the latest edition of Clapper Classics, and the group has been practicing hard for their upcoming performance in the frozen food section of our local grocery. Whenever we fish, we don't catch much. We've heard of something called bait, but old habits are hard to break. We changed the oil in our truck a few miles before it was due. The fellows at Popsy's Garage wonder where we got all the money. The gourmet cooking class Daughter took has certainly paid off. She's set aside a day just to cook that new two-minute pasta. Mother is still writing her stories. She's discovered they work great in lieu of packing peanuts. We turned the mattress last Tuesday, and it isn't even spring! The mosquito control truck goes by twice a week. Entertainment is slim the rest of the time. Went to the movies recently. Decided not to return until they soak Father's left shoe loose from the floor. There's been a plunger shortage in town since Mother's been making topiaries* for the neighbor's up coming wedding. She's saved her plunger receipts so she'll have a big windfall once the happy couple say their vows, and she can chip off the glue and return them. That's the latest from our house. Look forward to another adventure in living to share with all of you next year. ♥ Love from Amelia Island
*You actually can do this! While planning for daughter Barbra's wedding, Jane Marie made gold topiaries out of toilet plungers. They were vetoed by the bride and groom - though she couldn't imagine why. Nancy
