Cookbook Reviews Our mother made the very best deviled eggs so I borrowed her recipe for Peeper, the Dunnigan family's adopted grandmother - a real character and renowned hypochondriac. You can meet her in my historical novel, The Goodbye Lie. I make these delights every holiday, and every holiday our daughter ruins her dinner by scarfing them right out of the fridge. I don't think I've served a complete platter of deviled eggs since the child had teeth! Enjoy, PS You can read my story about the first time I made deviled eggs for our mother, Marie Harkins, on In Mama's Kitchen. They have a great site with family stories and heirloom recipes you won't want to miss. Look for the link for Angeled Eggs. Plus, In Mama's Kitchen's own Diana Serbe contributed a special memory to our Gone With The Wind collection. You'll love it! PPS We've put I Remember Mother, my deviled egg disaster, on our site too. Don't miss it. |
