I was given a sweet little plastic Easter egg wrapped in tulle and tied with a ribbon at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church on Amelia Island, Florida. I opened it to find tiny treasures that tell the Easter story. This egg is simple to make and yet very meaningful, no matter what your age.
Enjoy, PS As soon I got my egg, I figured out how to make them. But before we put this page on our site, I contacted the pastor's wife at Prince of Peace. She said she got her directions at http://www.creativeladiesministry.com. Though their contact information didn't work, it was clear this project has many versions, so we decided to publish ours. |

For one egg, you'll need:
Gather all the tiny treasure and put them inside the egg. Wrap the egg with tulle, gather the tulle, and tie the ribbon into a bow to secure it all. Type or write the following message on a small piece of paper. Punch a hole in the corner of the message, and tie it to the egg.
EASTER STORY EGG Penny = 30 pieces of silver - Matthew 26:15 Leather = reed used to beat Christ - Mark 15:19 Thorn = crown of thorns - Matthew 27:29 Nail held Christ on the cross - John 20:25 Cross on which Christ was crucified - John 19:17 Cloth = linen used to wrap Christ for burial - Matt.27:59 Stone = rock used to seal the tomb - Mark 16:4 Resurrection - MARK 16:4-6
Make several eggs for family and friends, adults and older children, to add to their Easter baskets or to give as a reminder of the Easter story.
Happy Easter!
Caution! Small items may be a choking hazzard!!!
