Carolina Jasmine blossoms with sweet smelling yellow trumpet flowers about 1 1/2 inches long on a trailing, evergreen vine. Native to the southeastern United States, it thrives in mild climates as an ornamental plant, perfect for growing along walls, trellises, fences, and even as a ground cover or in a container. Easy and fast growing, the vine can get as long as twenty feet. The two to four inch leaves are shiny green and grow in pairs across from each other. The plant may bloom again in the fall but with fewer flowers. It is good for erosion control on steep banks. Growing conditions:
Carolina Jasmine can be propagated by seeds, new growth cuttings or layering - let part of the vine touch the ground and cover it lightly with soil to hold it in place. It will root in that spot. DANGER: ALL PARTS of the CAROLINA JASMINE ARE POISONOUS. Do not ingest. Wash hands after trimming.
