Amelia Island, the setting for The Goodbye Lie, is a real place with a rich history. I know because I live there. And while I remain fascinated by the Gone With The Wind era, the post Civil War years of the 19th century were a time of recovery and rejuvenation in the United States. The details of my characters lives are as accurate as possible. My thanks to all who provided help and inspiration.
