Our family is expecting a new addition as I write this, so I was thrilled to get a copy of Bridget Swinney's Baby Bites.  It's a comprehensive look at the feeding of infants and toddlers.  And it's very detailed and as the mother of two, I recommend it to our own new mother and to every other prospective mother and father.  The book will help you do your most important job better.  Nancy

It's not very often I get my hands on an important book, but Blending Families, by Elaine Fantle Shimberg, is just that.  If you are about to become part of a blended family, if you are already dealing with making a new family unit work while trying to retain some structure in the old one, GET THIS BOOK NOW!

I have rarely been so impressed by a problem-solving author's ability to map out a workable way to live, but Shimberg gets my vote.  Nancy

Suzy Martyn is an educator who has written a parenting book you'll actually use.  Since my girls are older, I read though the pages of Enjoy the Ride, Tools, Tips and Inspiration for the Most Common Parenting Challenges with my niece, a new mother, in mind.  I know she and her husband will enjoy the book.  And benefit from its sound and useful advice.  Nancy

For years, I was a believer in Benchley, seeing even a trip to the mall as a trek to darkest demonia.  Now, when my children are finally taller than I am, Brenda Elwell has written The Single Parent Travel Handbook.  It's too late for me, but whether you're a single parent or not, get a copy of Elwell's book before you set off on another family adventure.  The book is packed with good and useful stuff - from tips to touring.  I truly recommend it.  Nancy
