I have seen makeup artist Rachael Lynn in action, transforming an un-made up face to reveal the true beauty within her model. Naturally, therefore, when Rachael gives makeup advice, I take notes - and we all benefit. Have a beautiful
day! PS A special thanks to Stephen of OkBride.com.

“Talk with your photographer.” Rachael has done the makeup for a lot of brides. She knows how to make you look as special as you feel on your wedding day. Cucumbers, tea bags and Preparation H can tighten up your skin.
Eyes – “Eyebrows are very important to me.” Do eyes first so any dribbles can be cleaned up without marring makeup. Highlight your eye all over as a base coat. Choose an eye shadow that compliments your eye color. Apply false eyelashes one at a time. Finish with mascara. Do not pump the mascara wand in and out. Stir to get mascara on the wand.
Lips Put on lipstick with a brush before you use a lip liner. Matte lipstick is better than gloss in photos. For black and white photos, wear a lighter shade. For small lips, use a lighter shade. For full lips, wear dark colors.
Foundation - “Makeup will not hide everything.” Use sheer foundation before you use a concealer. Never apply foundation with fingers. Blend foundation into hair and neck. Do not use yellow concealer. Use foundation as a conceal or; just make it one shade lighter than your regular shade.
Blush Blend blush into the hairline. A bronzer makes a great blush.
Powder Use loose, not pressed powder, and roll it on – don’t rub it in.
Glitter Don’t wear glitter on your wedding day – it gets on everything.
Housekeeping Clean your makeup brushes every two weeks with shampoo. “Brushes are your best friend.” Toss makeup after a year.
