Westlake fan since I read Dancing Aztecs many, many, many years ago. I still love that classic comic crime novel, but I remain thrilled every time John Dortmunder and friends plan another caper. (series)	Maisie Dobbs is a little too perfect to live, but she didn't - she's the title character in Jacqueline Winspear's series that begins with *Maisie Dobbs. Though Maisie is a detective, I read the first book not for the mystery but for the exposure to early 20th century life in Britain. Critics love the series, most readers do also. You can't lose by deciding for yourself. Nancy*
