The Internet has reshaped my life and yours too, perhaps. Certainly it's changed my profession — I never would have become a professional writer, much less an editor or publisher, without a computer connected to the world. But it's the secret shopaholic in my soul who rejoices in the wonder of online shopping. I will probably never have the leisure to stroll through every quaint little gift / book / antique / clothing shoppe in the world, but I can go anywhere and consider any purchase from the comfort of my very own home office. Stuff, wonderful stuff, that is not readily available here in Oklahoma is just a click away. And if an item doesn't fit our budget, I can bookmark the page just in case I ever actually need whatever it is. Those who followed my decision to purchase a new digital camera may remember that I did not make a hasty selection. I read the ads in the local paper, surfed the shopping bots (multi-site shopping crawlers that ferret out price, terms and availability) like and even suffered buyer's remorse when my camera choice did not immediately function as I'd hoped. All in all, the procedure was tremendous fun, I got such a good deal I can't duplicate it today, and I love my camera. Was this because I bought a name brand in a well researched process? Probably. Did I save time, money and aggravation? You bet. And you can do the same thing. Here's how: Save Time - Use shopping bots instead of search engines. We've listed several on in our Shopping Strategy Box. Save Money - Look at shipping and handling costs as well as prices. Don't pay extra for fast delivery unless you really need the product {I ordered Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix with free shipping. It arrived only two days after the big launch date.) Compare return policies and product guarantees. Enjoy Convenience - The Internet is open all day, every day - and you can shop in your pajamas! Be Secure - Credit card companies put a layer of protection between you and the companies with which you do business. To add extra security to a transaction, get a free PayPal account. We sell our handmade jewelry via a PayPal shopping cart, and are very pleased with the high level of security and service.
As our website has grown, we've added lots of shopping options for our visitors - we've even matched some of Jane Marie's wonderful Martha Bear stories to merchandise that might interest you. We've also urged you to click through our shopping links to
