Not everyone should read Joe R. Lansdale's Savage Season, but the movie based on this book or any other in the series would thrill blood-with-a-touch-of-bizarre-comedy-loving fans of Get Shorty. 

I first encountered the heroes in volume 6, Captains Outrageous, as they reincarnated themselves as guards in an East Texas chicken processing plant, and now I'm going back to discover what I've missed.  If you like mindless violence with a code of honor and a warped sense of humor, you'll start at the beginning and work your way up.  Or not.  Nancy

My friend Marcia's husband is in love with the Linux operating system so this mini-review is dedicated to him.

I'd heard good things about Just for Fun by Linus Torvalds and David Diamond, and mostly I agree with them.  BUT I have my own strong feelings about intellectual property - I want free software, but don't you dare copy one of MY articles.  Probably if I were very rich, I would waffle on this.  Who's to say?

In any case, Just for Fun is interesting and worth your time.  Just don't use my stuff without paying me a hefty, pre-agreed fee.  OK?  OK.  Nancy
