"I want to focus on my salad."  Martha Stewart

more quotations

The Romans ate salads at the end of a meal.  Whenever you enjoy the fruits of the earth and vine, we know they are good for you.

     Enjoy,
     Jane Marie

PS  Vegetables are basic and necessary foods.  With the right recipe, they can taste FANTASTIC.  Honest.

DRESSING

4 Ingredient Salad Dressing Recipe

"I like this salad dressing so much I could drink it by the glass."
     Jane Marie

You'll need:

  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

Mix all the ingredients.

Drizzle the dressing over your favorite fresh green salad.

Makes 3/4 cup of salad dressing, but the recipe is easily doubled.

Consider adding Mandarin oranges and/or walnuts for contrasting flavors.

Store in the refrigerator.

Family French Dressing - We're not quite sure where this one came from, but we know you'll love it.

Mercifully SHORT Reviews

If all of us ate big salads with lighter dressing everyday, there would be a bunch of thinner, healthier people running around.  Since we can't do anything about each other's diets, let's each resolve to do better on our own.  Main Course Salads by Donna Rodnitzky is a good place to start.  Nancy

We're all supposed to love salads so the schools serve iceberg lettuce with orange dressing.  Ugh!

If the health insurance companies were smart, they'd order up a ton of cookbooks like Salad Days by Marcel Desaulniers for the lunch ladies and school administrators who might then consider replacing those salads from hell with delicious / nutritious offerings.  Nancy

Adherents of the Yazidi religion, who live mostly in northern Iraq, believe that lettuce is evil and must never be eaten.
