2004	You will recognize Naveen Andrews of TV's Lost as the second male lead in Bride and Prejudice, Bollywood's extravagant (what else?) musical tribute to Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. I'm a big fan of Indian movies and in particular of director Gurinder Chadha Bend it Like Beckham). Bride and Prejudice is packed with color and exuberance as well as being a clever adaptation of Miss Austen's finest story. Plus you get at least four weddings! Nancy
1991 1995	Steve Martin and Diana Keaton paired up in *Father of the Bride, parts I and II, remakes of the Spencer Tracy originals below. Martin is stressed to the max during the preparations of his daughter's wedding. Solution? He hires a wedding coordinator, played by Martin Short. While at times you can't understand Short's invented foreign accent, it doesn't matter because his silly performance is the icing on the wedding cake. A modern story of love between dad and daughter - perfect for anyone who will be married, has been married or has children because weddings involve us all sooner or later. Jane Marie*
1950 1951	The classic comedy, Father of the Bride, is a must see before everyone's wedding day. Should you run out of time, you'll be able to relate just as well after the ceremony. The entire family will laugh and may even shed a tear as Spencer Tracy (Academy Award nomination), the harried dad, and only daughter, Elizabeth Taylor, endure the emotional and financial trials they face as that altar grows ever nearer. 1994	America discovered Hugh Grant in *Four Weddings and a Funeral. There's something endearing about his roles as a stumbling-bumbling leading man combined with his choice of entertaining scripts. If you managed to miss gem, click on the links at once. Nancy*
2001 2002	*Monsoon Wedding* is a vibrant, almost joyous look at contemporary life in middle class India. It's set in Delhi and goes **My Big Fat Greek Wedding a step further with a dark undercurrent to the all embracing family theme. I liked My Big Fat Greek Wedding**. Who wouldn't? But I loved Monsoon Wedding. Nancy
1995	We, the UTD and I, loved *Muriel's Wedding* - we even looked up Murial's hometown of Porpoise Spit, Australia in the atlas (not there). But this is not your typical icky-sticky wedding movie. Muriel is a mess and comes of age (what else?) through suffering and extremely poor judgment. Click on our links or head for the video store NOW! Nancy
