Women and the American Revolution -
Fiction about women and their lives ranges from Jane Austen's wonderful classics (you've read them, right?) to the whole genre of books about women who've been dumped but end up with great lives - think Brigid Jones's Diary. Since these chicklits are also amusing and the guys get what they deserve, the formula is very popular. Of course, sometimes real life is a little more unkind, but reading about our sisters on any level lets us experience the sorrows as well as the joys.
